Welcome to Fabrics of Love

I'd like to welcome everyone to my first blog. I want to share my experience with fabric and tell everyone how rewarding your life can be by breaking out of your comfort zone and trying something new.

The first time I quilted a quilt I had no idea how to start. I saw one online and decided I could do that so I cut out some squares and sewed them together. My quilting ability at that time was in the ditch and all of a sudden I had a baby quilt for my first grandbaby. Yep, he is of course the the most beautiful child that ever came into the world ). Then more grandbabies came into the world and I had to make more.

I saw a design of an emblem for a organization and decided I could make a quilt out of their design so off I go to design their emblem. The only problem was it was a circle so I revamped the emblem into a rectangle. The background was black and I used red, blue, yellow & green as the colors - plain fabric was the call. Since I didn't want to use white or black thread to quilt this piece I used invisable thread to quilt it by machine. Funny not knowing anything about quilting helped me to learn what not to do. I did finally finish the quilt and gave it to the organization for an auction. That is how I started my quilting career.

My name is Cheryl and thanks for stopping by :)
